ROAD CLOSURES

Cardiff will be hosting the UEFA Champions League Finals and UEFA Champions Festival from 1 - 4 June and it is anticipated to attract the largest crowd the city has ever seen, particularly on Saturday 3 June, the day of the Men’s Final.

As a result, the road closures needed around the City will be more extensive and longer lasting, than for other sporting events, and security measures may necessitate lane closures on some city centre routes.

There will be road closures and diversions in the City Centre on Saturday 3 June and around Cardiff Bay and Castle St from 1 – 4 June.  The map below shows the extent of the road closures within the City and dates they are applicable.

There will also be lane restrictions and possible road closures in the City as the various installations are built before the event and when they are taken down afterwards, as shown on the map. See Building the Event to find out more.

UPDATE: The planned road closure between Westgate Street and North Road/Boulevard de Nantes has been bought forward from Midnight Friday 2 June to MIDDAY Friday 2 June. This means Cowbridge Road East, Castle St and the bottom of North Road will be closed to cars from Midday Friday 2 June to no later than 03.30 Monday 5 June. Pedestrians and Cyclists will still have access. An updated map with these closures is below, or download the map here.

Changes to parking and access arrangements

These road closures will result in changes to local parking and access arrangement in the affected areas.  Residents and businesses which are normally affected by events at the Stadium will be contacted by the council informing them of the changes. A full list of roads affected will be made available on this site.

There will also be changes to public Park & Walk and Park & Ride facilities. See here for more details.

Bus and coach services will be amended slightly, with some stops having to be relocated

Information on how these changes will affect local services will be available from the relevant bus and coach operators.
