Walking & Cycling

As a compact City, Cardiff will be a great place to walk around on the day of the match.

There will be volunteers (known as Champions) on the dedicated walking routes between key points across the City to help direct you to where you want to go.

Walking times between key points in the City include:

  • Cardiff City Stadium-Cardiff Central Rail Station: About 30 minutes
  • UEFA Champions Festival-Cardiff City Stadium: About 40 minutes
  • Cardiff City Stadium-Cardiff City Centre: About 35 minutes

Cycling will be a great way to get around throughout the Event period.

By Coach

A number of coach operators run services to Cardiff. This includes National Express which offer services into Cardiff from all major cities including London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Swansea. It is a short walk between your coach and the Stadium.

Private chartered coaches are encouraged to pre-book a parking space here to ensure there is no disappointment on the day!

Alternatively download the Travel Guide App for information, options and advice on travel and accommodation for the Final.

By Train

The two closest stations, Grangetown and Ninian Park, are located 5 minutes walk from the Stadium and provide services to the local area. Cardiff Central Station is Cardiff’s main station and is a comfortable 30 minute walk to the Stadium. It is recommended to use Cardiff Central Station (which is also a short bus ride away), as Grangetown and Ninian Park Stations are expected to be exceptionally busy.

As these stations may be busier just before the match why not come into the City earlier in the day, visit the UEFA Champions Festival or enjoy the other things the City has to offer before heading to the match. Get your rail tickets now, these can be booked here.

Alternatively download the Travel Guide App for information, options and advice on travel and accommodation for the Final.

After the Match:

  • There will limited services at the smaller stations after the match, so please check your return journey options before booking your tickets. You can plan your journey through the mobility app, further information will be made available here soon.
  • There will be staff on hand at the stations and close to the Stadium to assist you with your journey.

By Car

Cardiff is accessible via the M4 motorway, which runs from London to South Wales. The Second Severn Crossing, which takes vehicles over the River Severn on the M4 motorway, is a toll crossing for which a fee is payable.

The roads into and around the area will be exceptionally busy due to the number of visitors. If you are in the local area why not leave your car behind and travel by public transport or walk. If you do intend driving:

  • Why not arrive into the City earlier in the day, check out the UEFA Champions Festival and the other things the City has to offer before heading to the match
  • Please note parking is limited, there will be limited spectator parking in the city centre and an event specific Cardiff Bay (South) Park & Walk site has been created. You are advised to book your parking now to avoid disappointment.
  • The parking is a short walk from the UEFA Champions Festival from where you can also get a FREE dedicated shuttle bus to Cardiff City Stadium. These shuttles run regularly from Hemingway Road in Cardiff Bay starting at 17.00 (local time) on 1 June and will get you back to the same location after the match.
  • Remember to switch off your SatNav as you approach the City and follow the road signs for the best route to the dedicated Park & Walk site.

There is accessible parking at the Stadium, this needs to be booked in advance to ensure you have a space. Please call 0845 365 1115 to book your space now.

Alternatively you can get an accessible shuttle bus from Cardiff Bay (South) Park & Walk site. This parking should be booked in advance.

If you are travelling by other public transport please check arrangements with the individual transport operator.
