Wales Millennium Centre 1 June 2017 - 4 June 2017.
The UEFA Champions Gallery has become a popular part of the UEFA Champions Festival in recent years.
This year, the Gallery will be hosted in one of Wales’ most iconic buildings, the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. The impressive venue provides the perfect setting to not only celebrate the proud history of one of the world’s most iconic sports tournaments, but also Welsh football, from the grassroots to the elite level of the game.
The six-decade long story of the UEFA Champions League will be told through a series of interactive exhibits, from the first European Cup won by Real Madrid, to last year’s Final won by… Real Madrid!
The UEFA Women’s Champions League will also be a key part of the Gallery, with the exhibition opening to the public the morning of the UEFA Champions League Final, 3 June.
For the first time, the UEFA Champions Gallery will also focus heavily on grassroots football. It will become not only to celebrate the proud grassroots culture in Wales, but also to enthuse and inspire individuals to take up football.
Submissions from the ‘This Is Welsh Football’ photo competition will be displayed throughout the gallery. Work submitted by the Welsh 1300 primary schools as part of the ‘Cardiff 2017 FAW Curriculum Resource will also be showcased. There will be free workshops on a range of creative topics, including photography, video production and creative writing.
So, whether your love football history, want to see your favourite European club’s memorabilia, or want to try your hand at photography, there’s something for you at the UEFA Champions Gallery
The UEFA Champions Gallery will open on Thursday 1 June and close on Sunday 4 June.
