Bale Nominated for UEFA Best Player in Europe Award

Gareth Bale has been nominated for the 2015/16 UEFA Best Player in Europe Award.

The Wales international enjoyed a fine season with both club and country, winning a second UEFA Champions League medal as well as starring for Wales in EURO 2016.

The 27-year-old scored three goals as Wales reached the semi-finals in their first major tournament since 1958.

Bale will go up against Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo and Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann for the award, with the winner being announced during the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Monaco on Thursday 25 August.
