Charges issued following FAW Trophy Semi-Final investigation

The Football Association of Wales has issued several charges in accordance with FAW Rules following an investigation to reported incidents at the FAW Trophy Semi-Final between Cefn Albion and STM Sports on 16 March 2019 at Latham Park, Newtown. 

Cefn Albion Football Club has been charged with the following offences:  

  • Pursuant to the FAW’s Non-Discrimination Regulations, Cefn Albion FC are charged with the Disciplinary Offence as set out under FAW Rule 38.1.13 for the alleged racial or other discriminatory behaviour, conduct or language of its spectators whilst attending the FAW Trophy Semi-Final. 
  • Cefn Albion FC are charged with the Disciplinary Offence as set out under FAW Rule 38.1.13 for the alleged failure of its spectator(s) to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion or failure to refrain from violence, threatening, abusive, obscene or provocative behaviour, conduct or language whilst attending the FAW Trophy Semi-Final match between Cefn Albion FC and STM Sports FC.  
  • Cefn Albion FC are charged with the Disciplinary Offence as set out under FAW Rule 38.1.14 for their spectator(s) alleged encroachment on the pitch area during the FAW Trophy Semi-Final. 

STM Sports Football Club has been charged with the following offence: 

  • STM Sports FC are charged with the Disciplinary Offence as set out under FAW Rule 38.1.13 for the alleged failure if its spectator(s) to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion or failure to refrain from violence, threatening, abusive, obscene or provocative behaviour, conduct or language whilst attending the FAW Trophy Semi-Final match between Cefn Albion FC and STM Sports FC. 

In accordance with FAW Rule 43.1.2, both clubs have seven Business Days as and from the date of receipt of their correspondence from the FAW, to respond to the charges. In due course, a Disciplinary Panel will be appointed to consider the charges.
