Club Licensing: Appeals Body Decisions 2021/22

Following the First Instance Body (FIB) decisions earlier this month, in respect of the award of the Women’s Tier 1 and Tier 2 licences, an Appeals Body has sat to consider the appeals from clubs initially refused by the FIB.

The independent Appeals Body considered appeals from the following three clubs in relation to the Tier 1 Licence:

  • Cadicot Town
  • Cascade YC
  • Merthyr Town

At the request of the club, Cardiff Bluebelles, who had failed their Tier 1 Licence, were assessed against the Tier 2 criteria.

The independent Appeals Body therefore, considered appeals from the following three clubs in relation to the Tier 2 Licence:

  • Aberaman
  • Cardiff Bluebelles
  • Cwmbran Celtic

The Appeals Body decided that all six clubs be successful in their appeals and extended its congratulations to them for attaining the Tier 1 or Tier 2 Licence.

As part of the restructure of the Women’s Pyramid for the 2021/22 season, the six clubs will now join ‘Phase 2’ of the process when clubs will present their development plans to a panel of experts where the final 8 teams for Tier 1, Tier 2 North and Tier 2 South will be selected.
