JD Welsh Cup: Penybont & Taffs Well chosen for TV

Penybont will host Taffs Well on live television in the next round of the JD Welsh Cup, as the match has been chosen as the live selection by official broadcast partners, S4C.

Taffs Well will become the fourth team in this season's competition to feature in their first live broadcast after being selected for S4C's flagship programme, Sgorio.

The Wellmen overcame Abergavenny Town in their opening fixture of the competition before dispatching fellow JD Cymru South sides Goytre United and Llantwit Major.

A 2-0 victory over JD Cymru North side Buckley Town in October ensured they secured their place in the last eight of the competition.

They have been rewarded with a clash against Penybont, who sit fourth in the JD Cymru Premier, at the SDM Glass Stadium.

The tie will be broadcast live on S4C, as well as Facebook, YouTube and S4C Clic, on Saturday, February 19th for a 12:45pm kick off.

Elsewhere, an all-JD Cymru Premier tie sees Bala Town welcome Aberystwyth Town to Maes Tegid. While JD Cymru North duo Guilsfield and Colwyn Bay will look to cause upsets against JD Cymru Premier leaders The New Saints and Connah's Quay Nomads respectively. The three fixtures will also take place on Saturday, February 19th, with the ties getting under way at 2:30pm.
