Robert Page takes 28-player squad to Portugal training camp

Cymru manager Robert Page has named 28 players for his EURO preparation camp in Portugal.

15 players from the Cardiff training camp stay on for Portugal and are joined by players who have just finished their respective club seasons.

Daniel James is unavailable due to Manchester United’s involvement in the Europa league final, while Connor Roberts and Ben Cabango will be taking part in the Championship play-off final. Josh Sheehan, Tom King and Brennan Johnson are also unavailable after Newport County and Lincoln City made it to the League 2 play-off final.

This training camp will be an opportunity for the team to prepare for the upcoming friendly matches against France and Albania. This will also be the last opportunity to impress the coaching staff to be included in the final 26 player EURO squad.

The training camp will be taking place in the Algarve region between 24-29 of May. The side last visited Portugal for a training camp in 2019. Page will then be announcing his squad for EURO 2020 on Sunday 30 May on the FAW’s social channels.
