While most schools remain at least partially closed, it can be tough to keep kids learning and entertained. Parents are having to balance working from home with entertaining and home-schooling their children.
To help parents and carers at this time, the Football Association of Wales’ Lead Partner, BT, and Computing at School (CAS) are launching a free toolkit of fun activities and games through the Barefoot programme – designed to help kids develop vital digital skills at home.
The toolkit includes:
- Activity guides for fun offline activities that introduce the key concepts behind computing
- Inspiring ideas to bring these concepts to life in everyday life
- Interactive online games for children to continue to develop their knowledge
- A cheat sheet for parents aligned to the national curriculum
The Barefoot programme is already used in the majority of UK primary schools to give teachers the tools they need to deliver the computing curriculum in engaging and relatable ways, inspiring children to think, learn and thrive in a digital world. The resources are easy to use, with no prior subject knowledge needed.
