After consultation between Cymru, Austria, Germany and Serbia, the UEFA 2020 U19 European Championship Elite Round Group 1 has been postponed.
The tournament was scheduled to take place in early October in south Wales, with the Cardiff City Stadium due to host its first ever Cymru U19 match. UEFA had allowed the option for the four countries involved to play the tournament in October or to postpone.
The Elite Round will now take place in the November international window. The location of the rescheduled round will be announced in due course and may be moved to a different country. The group winners will progress to the finals tournament in Northern Ireland which will now be played as a knockout event in March.
As a result of the postponement, Rob Edwards’ side will now use the October international window for a training camp and an international friendly match (opponents TBC).
